Bal Basera Seva Sansthan

HIV/Aids are widely spread throughout Rajasthan. Information or awareness building is practically not available.
Children with parents who are HIV-infected or suffering from AIDS are discriminated and excluded from schools, society and relatives.

Bal Basera Seva Sansthan was founded in August 2010. In 2012 it was registered as NGO (non-government-organization) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
One of the founders and present head, Mr Dinesh Kumar Joshi, is himself HIV-infected. He thus knows the manyfold discriminations by the Indian society only too well.

In the two orphanages which we support through ANSHULA and also privately, solely HIV-infected girls and boys are admitted. In Bal Basera they not only find a shelter with lots of love and care. They also obtain appropriate medication, healthy nutrition, and schooling.

In the founding year in 2010, 30 girls and boys were admitted; at the beginning of our support in 2013, already 60 children were living in the two orphanages – and the number is growing continuously….
