Pooja is a 15 year old girl from the desert village Samdari (District Barmer). She belongs to the caste of the untouchables. During the day she could attend the Sambhali program for street children.

Later in the day she had to go back to the street to help her parents collect rags and cardboard which they sell for their living. Pooja is due to be married shortly!

In view of this, Silvia and I have decided together with Pooja and her parents to admit her immediately to the Sambhali-Boarding Home for girls. The financing will be done through ANSHULA.
With this, Pooja is now living in safety and gets healthy nutrition.
From July 2017 on, she will attend school (start of the new term). Until then, to prepare her for school, she gets 4 hours of internal tuition every day.
Further financing from Juli 1, 2017 until June 30, 2019 will be financed through a successful crowd-funding initiated by 2 Sambhali-Volunteers.

A small but important contribution towards a better future of a Dalit girl!
